NEOPLAN Bus GmbH is currently represented in Germany by one state-of-the-art plant in Plauen. Together with other production locations, licencees and joint ventures abroad, e.g. in Ghana or China, NEOPLAN is present worldwide.
Gottlob Auwärter GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Stuttgart-Möhringen by Gottlob Auwärter on 01st July 1935. The great success in Germany and abroad led to rapid expansion of the plants. In Germany demand was largely satisfied by opening the plants in Pilsting (Lower Bavaria) and Plauen (Saxony). The plant in Pilsting has been taken over by the newly-founded VISEON BUS GmbH.
But NEOPLAN buses were, and still are, very popular outside Germany too. To serve the African market NEOPLAN opened Plant III in Kumasi/Ghana on 12th December 1974 and still builds buses specially tailored to the demands of the African market here.
