After the company was founded in 1935, it took nearly 14 years to produce 1,000 NEOPLAN buses. However, the 2,000th vehicle was completed only five years later. From an insignificant bodybuilding workshop in Swabia to globally-recognised bus manufacturer – the NEOPLAN company history is characterised by progress, creativity and relentless entrepreneurial spirit: the first self-supporting bus body, the innovative air suspension, the first airport bus, the first low-floor buses in lengths of up to 18.75 metres, revolutionary high and double-decker buses – also as articulated models – through to tests with wheel hub motors and fuel cell drive technology with very promising results.
