The Starliner includes both passive and active safety components. The most important element of the passive safety system is the design of the body structure. NEOPLAN makes use of all-round spar technology which optimises the stability of the entire body by means of patented reinforcement of the sidewall connections.
The Starliner is equipped with a host of active safety components. The EBS 2 brake system with disk brakes on all axles is electronically controlled. The integrated brake assistant recognises an emergency stop and generates the highest possible brake pressure.
Safety has priority
Efficient limitation of the maximum speed with the aid of a maximum speed control system prevents the driver from exceeding the speed limit even on downhill gradients.
Beside this if desired the Starliner can also be supplied with driver assistance systems to further increase safety, for example, the adaptive cruise control (ACC) or the lane guard system (LGS), both of which are available as optional extras.
This is the first time ever that a NEOPLAN coach also offers high-performance Bi-Xenon headlights, a new type of cornering light. On narrow bends in particular, vision is considerably improved by the enlarged cone of light. The design of the headlights is already prepared for future system functions.
